May is bringing flowers

Last year I had some beautiful flowers on our front porch, but winter came and left, and it took the flowers with it. I am wanting so badly to have a beautiful garden out front, but for right now, I'm going to have to settle for whatever I can get. So, I decided to get some hanging flowers for out front (I have to start somewhere), and two small cala lillies potted for the back porch (small, but cute). Cala lillies are my FAVORITE flowers, and I've always wanted them, but just haven't figured out where to put them yet. I have some green buds around my mailbox, and on the side of the house from the bulbs that Mom gave me last year when I went back to SC for Easter. I had one bloom by the mailbox briefly late last year, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they do this spring! I would LOVE to plant a Lilac bush in the back corner of my yard. I miss that so much about NY. You can't find those around here. So, I'm slowing working the flowers in....

Supermodels

Yesterday was so beautiful, I decided to take my new graudation present (a rockin' new camera, courtesy of Mom and Dad) and play with it outside. The girls became instant supermodels, posing for the camera, and pretending like I wasn't there so I could get the essence of their natural beauty. What follows are the results:

Graduation

On May 9, 2009 at 7pm, I graduated from Hopkinsville Community College with my Associate in Arts. I am so excited and proud, that after all these years, obstacles, moves and changes in life, that I have accomplished this goal of mine. My parents were able to come in, even though Mom had to return from her conference in Colorado a day early, and Dave was able to work his way out of having to be in the field for 2 weeks in Alabama. It was fun, small, and fairly quick! Since I didn't know that you had to apply to graduate, I won't be receiving my Degree until this August, but that's just fine by me! I'm planning to attend summer school starting in June continuing one for my Bachelors in Psychology, then onto a Masters, which I should be able to complete all within 4 yrs, depending on when courses are offered. I would like to do early childhood school counseling with my degree. For now, I'm enjoying a nice month-long break, catching up on enjoyable reading, spending time with my husband, and cleaning house!
